Lander College of Arts and Sciences Library Dedication

Last Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, the Lander College of Arts and Sciences Library was officially dedicated in Honor of Susan Aldrich. The dedication was made possible and graciously sponsored by Touro Alumni Moishe Oiring Class of 2011.  A luncheon preceded the unveiling and dedication.
Susan Aldrich is currently the Executive Vice President of River Spring Health Plans. She is a very empathetic, kind and giving person. She has worked in the Health Care Profession specifically regarding the elderly for at least 30 years. She developed and ran the nation’s largest program of all-inclusive care for the elderly and is currently responsible for the health care of 19,000 individuals.
At the Luncheon those in attendance were privileged to hear from Touro President Dr. Alan Kaddish, Dean Goldschmidt, Touro Alumni, and Councilmen of the 44th District Kalman Yeger and Moshie Oiring among others.  In attendance as well was Senator and Touro Alumni Simcha Felder. Councilmen Yeger also presented honoree Susan Aldrich with a Certificate and Proclamation from the New York City Council commemorating this event.

Touro President Dr. Alan Kadish spoke of the importance of the library within Touro, especially during this difficult time in the world where information verification is not altogether guaranteed.  He discussed the need to have a place for our students where they can learn to differentiate and think critically about the intake of information they are receiving and how the library, which is the center of information, goes above and beyond to fulfill that function and even more for our students.
Susan Alderich is a very giving and empathetic woman who has worked tirelessly in Health Care for many years trying to improve the health and lives of those dependent on her.  How fitting it is to have the library, the center of information for our students, be named after someone who so selflessly dedicated herself to the care and concern of others.
