For many graduation signifies the end of an educational journey. It’s the end of classes, study groups, and tests. However, it does not have to be the end of your relationship with Touro. Graduation is not only about no longer being a student; it’s about transitioning into an alumnus. That new title comes with certain perks that go beyond just the occasional reunion.
Touro will continue to support you in your future endeavors. Being part of the alumni community means you have access to facilities and resources that others do not. For example, the Touro College School of Health Sciences Alumni Website is regularly updated with job opportunities from offices and hospitals in the New York/New Jersey area. The positions posted span many fields; particularly Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Speech and Language Pathology, and Nursing.
Graduation does not mean the end of learning new information, particularly for those who enter a career in the healthcare field. We like to encourage continual growth and education by giving our alumni advanced notice of continuing education seminars, often at a discounted rate. Our seminars are perfect for maintaining your license for your profession and for networking with others in your field. Alumni are also welcomed back to our campuses to use the libraries for their research. Our wonderful librarians maintain a list of electronic resources that can be accessed both on and off-campus. For more information about Alumni library access and resources, please visit the Alumni Portal.
These are only some of the ways Touro continues to support alumni. Additional discounts with various vendors and other benefits can be found on the MyTouro Portal. To make sure you receive news of all School of Health Sciences alumni events, please update your contact information by emailing SHS.Alumni@touro.edu.
