Midwood Flatbush Library (Ave J) has always been the main library for both the undergraduate and graduate programs in Speech Language Pathology, which are part of the Lander College of Arts and Sciences. We have provided support for undergraduate and graduate programs with print and electronic books & journals for over 15 years.
We will still continue to support the undergraduate program of speech language pathology; however, starting December 2014, the Graduate School of Speech Language Pathology has re-located from Avenue J to their new home at 1610 East 19th Street, Brooklyn, New York 11229 (Ave P). The Kings Highway Library, located at 946 Kings Highway in Brooklyn, will now provide support for the graduate-level Speech Language Pathology students and faculty.
We have already packed 20 boxes with books, 1 box with DVDs & CD-ROMs and 3 boxes with journals, which are all ready to be shipped to Kings Highway Library. The staff at Midwood Library has done an excellent job in selecting those resources, updating the information in the catalog, and packing books and journals in chronological order. All boxes are labeled with call numbers ranges corresponding to the books packed within. This way, we hope it will be a snap for the Kings Highway staff to get them unpacked and onto the shelves.
So, all students and faculty looking for materials in Speech Language Pathology can continue to use the Touro College Library online catalog, and search by title, author, keyword search, or ISBN. You will be able to locate your materials either at the Midwood or Kings Highway Libraries. Most of the full-text journals are available online through Touro College Library’s databases.
If you’re doing research in this area, don’t forget to check our Speech Language Pathology LibGuide, designed to help students find relevant, authoritative materials on speech and communication disorders.
Thank you very much to Midwood Library staff for their great work in this project.
