Why do you see a pop-up box when you try to print something in the library?
All library computers have software called PaperCut installed on them. The pop-up box you see when you click “Print” on a document is part of PaperCut.
To print, all you need is your myTouro Portal username and password (to activate your Portal account, register at https://mytouro.touro.edu by clicking on the “First Time Users” button). Every fall and spring semester, you are given $15 worth of printing credit, and in the summer, $10 (each page you print is usually $0.10, so this is 100-150 pages of printing per semester!).
If you need to print more than your free allotment, you can go to your Portal account, click on PaperCut on the left side, and use a credit or debit card to add more credit. The credit you add will carry over to the next semester, so don’t worry that you will lose the money if you do not use it all that semester. The free $20 or $30 allotment will NOT carry over if you don’t use it all, however.
Once you enter your username and password and click to confirm the number of pages, your print job will be printed immediately. You will also be able to see your balance on the small green box on the upper right hand side of the screen.
If you have any questions about how to use PaperCut, please feel free to ask a librarian!
